The Monitor Gold represents the apex of Tannoy\'s Dual Concentric engineering. Introduced in the late 1960s as the successor to the Red series, the Gold was adopted as the reference standard in professional studios and broadcasting facilities across Britain and Europe — including the BBC. Both the high-frequency and low-frequency drivers share a single acoustic centre, producing a point-source presentation that modern multi-driver designs spend considerable effort attempting to approximate.
